Terms of Service

The terms below govern your use of the Operation International Gift of Knowledge website at oigok.org.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

Operation International Gift of Knowledge, Inc. ("OIGOK," "we," "us," or "our") is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. By accessing or using oigok.org (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Who we are and what we do

OIGOK serves children suffering from extreme poverty in Uganda, East Africa, by providing educational, medical, and nutritional support so they may achieve self-reliance. The Site provides information about our mission and offers ways to sponsor a child, donate, and contact us.

3. Use of the Site

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You will not attempt to disrupt the Site, gain unauthorized access to any systems, misuse any forms, or use the Site in any way that could harm OIGOK, the children we serve, or other users.

4. Donations and sponsorships

Donations and child sponsorships made through the Site are processed by our third-party payment provider (currently PayPal). By making a gift, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method provided. As a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions to OIGOK are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law; no goods or services are provided in exchange for your donation unless explicitly stated. Recurring sponsorships continue until you cancel them through your payment provider or by contacting us. Donations are generally non-refundable; if a gift was made in error, please contact us and we will work with you in good faith.

5. Stewardship of funds

OIGOK is committed to using donations only as intended — to develop the children we serve. We keep administrative and fundraising costs as low as possible. Our leadership conducts in-person oversight in Uganda to confirm that funds are used appropriately by our local partners.

6. Intellectual property

The content on the Site — including text, logos, graphics, photographs, and videos — is owned by or licensed to OIGOK and is protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

7. Privacy

Information you provide through the Site (for example, via the contact form) is used only to respond to you and to carry out our mission. We do not sell your personal information. A separate Privacy Policy may provide additional detail.

8. Third-party links and services

The Site links to and relies on third-party services (such as PayPal, Vimeo, and our image host). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party websites or services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranties that the Site will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that information on it is complete or current.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OIGOK and its directors, officers, volunteers, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.

12. Contact us

Questions about these terms? Please reach us through our Contact page or our social channels.

Note for OIGOK staff: This is a general template. Before relying on it, have it reviewed by counsel (Board member Brittney McClain is an attorney) and add your official mailing address, contact email, and the governing state/jurisdiction.
